Ice Cubes: The Secret to Glowing and Radiant Skin

Ice Cubes: The Secret to Glowing and Radiant Skin

Growing up, every one of us might have heard our mothers or grandmothers warn us to never use ice cubes directly on our face, lest it leads to wrinkles and damaged skin. Today, we’re here to tell you that was utter nonsense (you know how your grandparents are). We’ll also introduce you to the best-kept skincare secret out there – the ice cube! Keep reading this article to find out everything you need to know about why ‘ice cubes’ has become the newest skincare trend and how you can make your own version at home using only three simple ingredients!

Ice cubes are the secret ingredient:

Replace your usual skincare with ice cubes. Ice cubes have become popular as an ingredient in skincare due to its cooling effect, which helps reduce puffiness around eyes, and deeply hydrates dull skin. Remove Eye Makeup:

To remove eye makeup, drop two ice cubes into a small bowl of water. Soak a cotton ball in tap water, squeeze out excess liquid and roll over your eyes. Use an old toothbrush or Q-tip to get around lashes if needed. Rinse thoroughly with cool water, being careful not to get anything in your eyes!

Cool Down After Sun Tanning:

Cooling down after you get a tan is essential. If your skin isn’t cooled down, it can result in peeling, irritation, and even painful blistering. Cooling your skin helps minimize dark spots and more effectively fades your sun tans than if you didn’t cool it down. Use ice cubes or soak a washcloth in cold water and place on your face for 10 minutes every half hour while you are out in the sun.

Gentle Exfoliation Treatment for Sensitive Skin:

Using ice cubes to exfoliate is a gentle way of sloughing off dead skin. Get rid of fine lines, dry patches, and any other skin irritations with freezing water. Simply rub an ice cube over your face while avoiding eyes, lips, hairline, etc.

All-Natural Face Mask:

Gather together a few ice cubes, rosewater or glycerin if you have it, some finely ground oatmeal (or use oats if you can get your hands on them), and lemon juice. Mix in a bowl until thoroughly combined. Apply evenly to face, avoiding eye area. Leave on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse off with cool water.

Acne Blemish Clearing Treatment:

Ice cubes (crushed) + 1 teaspoon of honey + 2 teaspoons lemon juice. Mix well, rub gently on acne for 5 minutes. Rinse with warm water after 10 minutes. Use daily for 2-3 weeks until your blemishes start fading away. #1 DIY Acne Clearing Treatment

Anti-Wrinkle Serum For Eyes:

Make an anti-wrinkle serum for eyes by mixing aloe vera gel with pure honey, Vitamin E oil and rose water. Apply it on your under eye area every night. This is an effective way to reduce wrinkles. Drinking lots of water will help keep your skin hydrated. Water can also flush out toxins from your body which would result in a glowing skin free from dark spots or blemishes. This is one of my best tips!

Radiance Boosting Face Mask:

Take a quarter cup of fresh aloe vera gel. Freeze it in ice cube trays (like you do for cocktails). Once frozen, pop out your homemade face mask cubes. Apply them in a circular motion on your clean face once or twice a week before bedtime and let them work their magic overnight!

Instantly Brighten Under Eye Circles & Dark Spots:

Instantly brighten under eye circles and dark spots with a bag of frozen peas or corn. These organic, water-based ice cubes contain ingredients like vitamin C, beta carotene, zinc and other antioxidants that help skin look more youthful. Pop a few bags in your freezer for those days when you’re feeling exhausted or irritated. After cleansing at night, grab one or two bags (depending on their size) out of your freezer.

Keep Hair Cuticles Silky Smooth:

If you have brittle, dry hair, then it’s time to switch up your routine. This summer season opt for a mild shampoo rather than a clarifying or heavy-duty one. Less lather doesn’t mean less clean! Rinsing with warm water can also make a huge difference in how silky your hair feels after getting out of the shower—not only does it rinse away dirt more efficiently, but it also makes strands softer as it smooths down cuticles.

Keep Lips Shaped Perfectly Throughout Winter:

Tip of Ice Cube As Wax. Waxing isn’t just for summer, if you have a shaped little pout that’s perfect throughout summer, why not keep it perfect through winter too? An ice cube is just as effective as wax when it comes to shaping your lips. It’s a quick, easy and painless method that keeps your lips in great shape. Just take an ice cube – ideally one with a paper wrapper still on – run it under some warm water for 30 seconds or so, then run it over your lips in long sweeping motions. (Be careful not to let your teeth touch the cube.) Repeat until they’re perfectly shaped; they should be slightly reddened but shouldn’t be sore at all!
